are samurai swords already sharpened when shipped?
ok so i ordered a samurai sword from san diego, CA the other day. Its a katana that has a hidden wakizashi inside the same sheath. a "2-in-1 sword", I guess you would call it... anyway, I liked it. so, while I was still in SD, i've seen this sword, examined it, and realized that the blade was basically like a pair of scissors, but with only one blade. Now mind you that im kind of a newcomer when it comes to collecting, so im not sure if its meant to be like that. so heres my question:
do i have to sharpen it after i get it in the mail? or do they sharpen it first and then ship the sword?
You bought a wallhanger. It is not good for much more than something to decorate the wall. you do not attempt to sharpen a sword. Real Katana are extremely sharp. They are not sharpened but polished to a Fine Edge. If you even try to use this sword it is likely to break.
