Question about Star Wars Games?

hi... does it seem like LucasArts are focusing a little too much on the clone wars to you? with that movie a couple years back and the series it seems thats all they do for games as well. I wanted to know if they are gonna get back to basics and make a new Rogue Squadron game. Or at least something where I can fly Rebel or Imperial Fighters around freely. What were the best games that let you do this for any system? is the classic X-wing game or Rogue Squadron better in your opinion? am I the only one who still gets a kick out of flying X wings?

Agreed. Personally, I felt the flying experience in Star Wars Galaxies was amazing (I know a lot of people don't agree with me). It allowed space combat, starship maintenance and customization and had classic ships such as rebel and imperial fighters. You basically got to create your own mission with the only downside being a monthly fee to the play the game. The Rogue Squadron series offered good flight simulation experiences as well, but in the end you're on a mission and can't really deviate and explore. I'd also prefer Rogue Squadron goes back to its roots and stays away from "ground" missions similar to those offered in Rebel Strike. Last I heard the Rogue Squadron project for the Wii was terminated due to bankruptcy, so I suppose there is still a chance someone could pick it up.
