My Jack Russell is limping on her back leg- are there joint problems with JR's, or what?
She is 1 1/2 yrs old, and is healthy. we think it could be a ruptured bursa in her knee joint, and I am stumped. She appears to have a small amount of fluid build up on the joint. The joint is not warm, or swollen. HELP!
I'd suspect slipped kneecaps - or luxated patellas. Small breed dogs often have this condition. It occurs when the cup that holds the kneecap in place is too shallow and the kneecap pops out of joint, causing instability of the leg and, often, pain. If your dog seems to be walking along fine and then starts to bunny hop on one or both legs, this may be the cause. When the kneecap pops back into place the leg will work correctly again. There are different degrees of luxation (1 is mild, 4 is severe requiring surgery). See your vet and she can feel the knee joints to see if they are unstable.

Other times, golfers either don’t think about the legs’ because they’ve learned legwork and footwork instinctively, or they concentrate so much on their arms, they forget about their legs. These players are missing a golden opportunity to take their swings to a new level.
The Legs Function
The legs have three functions. The first is to support. The second is to balance. And the third is to increase the centrifugal force created by the arms and hands when you swing. In other words the legs function in a golf swing much like a boxer’s legs when he or she unloads a punch. They increase power with good leg drive. Without good leg drive, the punch and the golf swing lack power.
