What does Blizzard mean that Hunters can share armor with rogues?

Hunters = Mail armor

Rogue = Leather armor?

so how can they share armor?

There are many reasons for this.

Firstly from level 1-40 Hunters wear leather items only and can only begin to wear mail after level 40 when they learn it from thier trainer.

Secondly, the word Armor also refers to other items such as necks, trinkets, rings. These items are often shared with rogues right through to level 80 raiding as they have all the same desired stats on them.

Thirdly, from level 40-80 you may still see one or two items of leather on a hunter. This is purely because they haven't had any mail items drop for them that are better than the leather item they have. This will be remedied with time however it's not a bad thing all in all. It really doesn't matter what armor type the item is because the hunter should never be getting hit at all so they do not need armor. Whatever is an upgrade for them, is an upgrade. You will often see in raiding many druids with a mixture of leather and cloth gear or manay shamans with a mixture of mail, leather and cloth. The armor type is less important and the stats themselves take priority. However, once you begin raiding your hunter should not need leather items at all unlike these classes.
